my stay here was an absoluteley horrendous nightmare. the room was filthy with cigarette burns everywhere and the supposedly 5-star breakfast was worse than a roadside stall! i expected a complimentary upgrade for my troubles, but instead, i got scorn from reception. of course, my hopes for a pleasant punch on the arm were dashed!

The staff was incredibly helpful, Mr Sapri went out of his way to assist with my tour details,, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic, especially the omelettes. the room was clean, large, and it had a nice rustic feel which made for a cozy stay.

this stay at the shangri-la was our best experience in kota kinabalu. the comfy room was always clean, and the staff upgraded us to a quieter floor. the wifi was reliable, and the breakfast was packed with choices.
